Totally.
Many parents buy their kids things to keep them quiet or to gain love, whatever.
Spending quality time with them is what counts. Lazy parenting is something I see, working with kids. Not every parent, but in my 15 years working and coaching kids soccer I have noticed the trend get worse where parents don’t know where their 10 year old kid is at 11pm at night for example, and letting kids walk home in the dark etc. I have a thing called “Disclosure Scotland” Basically all my coaching friends and anyone in society needs one to work with kids needs one, but even with this, you can’t give a kid a lift home.
Shocking state of affairs. Some parents would rather get pissed drunk than worry or care about what their kids are doing, and we wonder why kids and crime involving crime is on the rise
Great post. And sorry for the small rant there, it is something I see a lot and something I hate. I don’t know if it is just a Scottish thing, and it is like, 10%, but 1% is enough for it to be bad.
So YEAH!! Spending time educating your child and having game time, like puzzles or drawing is important.
Shauny
thank you very much Shaun for being so sensitive to this delicate nuisance which is growing in the society, people
dont care for their children many a times they leave them on their own, resulting in misguided children are prey to drugs, crime, and sex.
thanks very much for being my friend
It is a case of being a human being mate, and acting with humility.
And you are right, In my work with kids, 14/15/16 year old is a very crucial age and NEEDS touch love parenting. Drugs, Crime and the rest do happen. And many parents sit watching TV or in a pub without a care in the world.
My two sons are now 19 and 20, and they both work, know values, honesty, courtesy, and how to be decent lads. They also know how to budget, they are still learning, but me and Miss Shaun are still teaching them about life and guiding them.
My other two kid are 2 and 3, both girls, they want cake and argue over paper..lol
Friendship is a given mate. Humility and Humanity shown on both sides help. I don’t know if you use Skype. Many will have to soon as Hotmail is being closed. So please, in my Contact page you liked, if you have Skype, please add away, another 7 added me over night from here.
Some of the debate is fantastic, and other times the laughter is superb. Being housebound myself for long spells, it helps to connect with the outside world still.
The pleasure is mine to be friends.
HH
yes thanks I do have Skype
but i dont connect coz lazy
but if you tell me I would connect
Go to my contact page. my Skype name is there. And leave a message and We can type or Audio. Whatever suits you buddy
Shaun
no I have a web cam that is okay
but just give me 1 day i will do it
cause tomorrow is the Indian National Budget to be presented in the parliament and I am in to the stock market so please bear with me
Most webcams are built with a mic. When in skype go to the “Audio Tester” you call it and it can tell if you are good to go.
I am REALLY into world affairs, but the Indian National Budget is a bit out of my taste, lol. I know a lad from Scotland who is India just now. Famous he is. The wanting to be a politician should bar you for wanting to be one, lol (Old Scottish Joke)
Shaun
no I ma into the stock market and budget is important
for the market
And as it is Europe is too bad today
so bear with me for at least one day
We all have our areas of interest. I know the stock markets are important to us all. Just bores the knickers off me. lol
When you put it that way, yeah, it is important. And mate, Skype, anytime, no rush, I have about 200 users and am always on it, Another pal to speak to won’t do any harm. lol
Speak soon, and enjoy your Day
thanks
IT NEEDS TOUGH LOVE !!!!!!!! I meant…ffs…
Shaun
yes you are right
I have a post similaur under government on child support. Kids want their parents not money and the family courts have failed miserabley not divorcing responsblly. Adults making children adult battles. these role models left petty adults everywhere. Adukts thinking kids expect moeny as child support. NUTS!! Child support to a kid isn’t money. Adultswith theri heads in boxes and never leaving. HAve to change that or all our future leaders will be the same. They do start as children.
A very touchy subject for me when parents don’t realize that bad adults do more damage then bad kids ever did. Non poarents only bash for the most part the kids and the parents as if they were never kids themselves and/or adults with adult brains to change.
oh yes you are right those parent need to be punished
because of their parties and outings leave their kids alone
and hence they are into drugs and crime and every sort of trouble and the government is how much responsible that is a different question
I agree on parents being punished, I have been vocal on this with the Disclosure people and young groups and the police many times.
One thing I always try to keep in mind while coaching a kid who is any age, is one day they will be adults and look back. Many kids I coached say 10 years ago are now aged 18/19/20 and I have a great friendship with some and when I meet others we get on. Because even at say, 8 year old, I respected that kid.
Some parents look at volunteer workers as a cheap babysitter for 2/3 hours 2/3 times a week.
There is a local forum for coaching soccer in my area of the UK and I have been vocal on this for years now. 9/10 agree and add comments, 1/10 disagree and try and argue the other way, there is NO other way. There is only right and wrong.
Great debate
Shaun
